Starting in Mayres, go behind the church to the cemetery. The path follows a stream.
Head uphill along the Saint Martin stream (with daffodils in bloom at the right time).
Ford the stream (footbridge under construction!) and go left to reach the peak. The statue is on the left (1) and the summit is on your right.
Follow the left bank of the Ruisseau d’Abraham at a distance to reach above the Rock of Abraham (2).
At the summit there is a beautiful view of the Croix de Bauzon, the Cévennes, Mont Gerbier de Jonc and the Coiron.
To head back down, follow the ridge (1 difficult section) for about 3 km to reach the Rock of Taillades (3).
Turn right on the track that leads to Serre de Rabot (4).
You reach point (1) then follow the stream of Saint Martin to the start.
Alternative: you can climb to the Rock of Abraham from the Quartier La Motte (a hamlet before Mayres) returning by the same path. Then walk along Ruisseau d’Abraham which also worth a quick look.
