Description

The route starts from Callander Crags car park on Bracklinn Road.

(S/E) Take the path into the wood which is a mix of mature deciduous trees, rich in wildlife. The path rises gently, then, a little steeper to a viewpoint of the Menteith Hills.

(1) Further on, a short steep downhill section of path leads to the west of Callander. Return to the Callander Crags car park by following Ancaster Road and Bracklinn Road or use the local streets to return to the town centre, where you can enjoy the many shops, cafes and restaurants after your walk.(S/E)

Useful Information

The path surface is a mixture of well compacted surfaces with some loose material, uneven in place.

By public transport : The best way to get to Callander is to hop on a bus from Stirling.

By bike : The National Cycle Network Route 7 (NCN 7) runs through the heart of the National Park, and takes in classic Trossachs scenery en route. This route passes right through Callander.

By car : From Glasgow it takes only approximately 1 hour to get here (41 miles) via Stirling, by taking the M80 and then A84. From Edinburgh it takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to get here (51 miles) via Stirling, by taking the M9 and then A84.
