We attempted this walk twice. The first time we couldn't fine the right "large field" and wandered over the Sandon parkland for an hour before re-tracing our steps. The second time we tried doing it in reverse as the latter part seemed better described, but took the wrong footpath away from the church and ended up walking through the estate, coming out where we had lost our directions on the first week. We tried again from that end and then found the correct field, and managed to follow the walk correctly from that point, although we walked the length of many fields trying to find the right style on the way. Eventually a lovely walk, but does need more detailed directions in the part of the walk from reaching the first field to Trentham Tower.

I found the instructions very hard to follow without an OS map. From the wood into the field area the footpaths were very hard to find and follow, but once we 'Happened 'upon the tower and found the track, it was plain sailing.

Really enjoyable circular walk. Easy route but we did get a bit lost trying to navigate the footpaths in the fields and had to get the compass out. Dry and well maintained stiles. Trentham tower definitely worth seeing and a drink in the Hollybush pub at the end recommended!

Very muddy this time of year but some good views and interesting buildings. 2 pubs along the way too!

My fiancé and I went on this route yesterday (11/09/16) and despite it being a beautiful afternoon we left feeling a bit disappointed.

The route started off really well taking us over the river which featured a small waterfall and on into the grounds of Sandon Hall. The description mentions the parkland of Sandon Hall which in all honesty we either didn't see or couldn't tell what was a farmers field and was parkland.

The public right of way wasn't clearly defined for the majority of the trek. We often found ourselves stumbling through long, swampy grass fields which were difficult to walk over even with decent walking boots.

The highlights of the walk included finding the Sandon Hall Folly which was inquisitive as we had no idea what it was until researching it that evening, having a cuddle and fuss with some beautiful horses, seeing the pretty little church and saying hi to the abundance of wildlife along the way.

If you are going to do this walk I would suggest you wear a decent pair of walking boots, trousers and insect repellent (there are a lot of bitey insects through the fields).
