This hike is a marvellous way to explore the beautiful Saut du Doubs.
Calculated time is computed with the distance, the height difference, and an average speed of 2.2 mph. For an intermediate walker, this time includes small breaks.
(S) Park the car in the Les Vions car park.
Head down the road to the pier at Lake Brenets and head left (1). Follow the signs towards Barrage du Châtelot dam overlooking the Doubs. After a short walk, you will come to the amazing Saut du Doubs (2).
At the dam (3), turn left into the path leading to the ladder (an old French and Swiss smugglers’ passage in their heyday). Continue uphill to the hamlet of Le Pissoux and follow the road, with the return markings taking you back to the pier (for a small boat trip on the lake) or directly to the car park.

Hi.. On a hot day great interesting walk . Under forest cover and plenty of shade, but with great views .No cafes on the way so take your own suppliers.Wonderful walk would do it again.
A walk around the Cirque de Consolation with a thrilling variety of views and valleys. Beautiful panoramic views and bodies of water on way.
Rousseau once wrote «I have, opposite my windows, a beautiful waterfall which from the mountain top, plunges from a rocky escarpment into the valley, with a sound heard for miles around, especially when waters are high». From waterfall to waterfall, alongside these impressively steep gorges which once inspired fear (poëta from the latin putidus meaning "altered, fetid"), this trail will lead you through a delightful hike through rocks and water.
