Trek around Chambeyron Mountain Range

Reaching over 3000 metres in altitude, Aiguilles de Chambeyron and Brec de Chambeyron form an impressive mountain range halfway between Queyras and the Moncantour. This hike offers a trek with no techincal difficulty, with passes over 2700 m in altitude and a summit of over 3000 m. Set in an outstanding landscape and for the most part within a high mountain setting.

Useful Information

Overnight stays in stage shelters or gîtes with catering (contact details available on each stage description). You can make enquires towards ordering a picnic for lunch. Apart from the stage refuges and gîtes, there are no shops along the way.

No drinking water sources during the trek apart from at the stage refuges and gîtes so bring water supplies with you.

Mountain gear is essential: hiking shoes, warm clothes, raincoat, possibly hiking poles...

1/25000 scale map is a must. A compass wouldn't hurt...

As this isn't a loop hike, so doesn't go back to your starting point, prepare your transport beforehand:
- Possible parking at Fouillouse (starting point) as well as at Larche (finishing point). If you have to cars you can leave one at each...
